The ‘Major Planning Support Center’ provides major counseling services for students. We talked with the center to learn more about how it supports students as they explore their future career paths.

The Job First-Step Support Center, newly established in 2026 as part of a project led by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, has opened on our campus. The center provides personalized career planning and employment support for young people who are having difficulty finding employment. We met with a representative from the Job First-Step Support Center to learn more about its role and key programs.

The recommended recruitment program is a special hiring process in which the University Job Plus Center works with corporate human resources departments to recommend students who meet the companies' recruitment criteria. Students selected for recommendation may receive preferential treatment—such as bonus points or exemption from the document screening stage—depending on the company.

In the first semester of 2026, a new college dedicated to serving international students, Daeyang Global College, was established. The college was established to provide a structured foundation that enables international students to successfully adapt to unfamiliar university life and grow into future global leaders. Ahead of the first admission of new students for the 2027 academic year, we met with Dean Lee Kang-won of Daeyang Global College to hear about the new global vision envisioned by our university.

The Academic Information Center houses books from various genres in addition to academic papers and periodicals, all of which are freely available to members of our university community. To mark autumn, the season of reading, we visited the Academic Information Center to explore recommended books by genre.

Subculture, once considered as outside the mainstream, has emerged as a central pillar of mainstream culture. Our university also has a space where students can share their individual interests and the joy of creation: Hanson, the university’s central comics club, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. It is a place that embraces a wide range of genres—including animation, comics, and games—and respects all kinds of tastes. We met with Lee Ha-neul (Department of Hotel, Food Service, Tourism & Franchise Management, Class of ’25), the 40th president of Hanson, who is contributing to campus culture through unique festival booths and diverse small-group activities.

“You can discover yourself through the words and reactions of others. Don’t be afraid of others. I hope you become students who discover who you are by building relationships with a diverse range of people.”

In the future, those who effectively embrace AI will gain more opportunities than those who do not. Rather than fearing new technology, I hope students will actively learn and use it to develop their own unique strengths.

Memes and newly coined words can also be seen as attempts to overcome the limitations of language and communicate with greater precision. I believe that the value and power of language which we must not overlook lie in the constant creation of new expressions and the drive to communicate with one another.

Gatsaeng, a lifestyle focused on setting goals and working diligently toward them, has become a cultural trend among university students. While pursuing a double major, Kim Tae-yeon (Department of Media & Communication, Class of ’21) has gained experience in content creation by participating in various activities both on and off campus. We met with Kim, who has turned the things he wants to do into action without hesitation, to learn how he designs his own unique university life.
